Team USA & Canada Invite 8 Blackhawks To Camp

8 members of the Chicago Blackhawks could add an Olympic medal to their resumes that includes the 2013 Stanley Cup. Team USA has invited Patrick Kane, Nick Leddy and Brandon Saad to their camp which will be held August 26th and 27th in Arlington, VA. Jonathan Toews, Brent Seabrook, Duncan Keith, Corey Crawford and Patrick Sharp have been invited to Team Canada’s camp in Calgary from August 25th to the 28th.

Just being invited to camp means you are held in high regard but it does not mean you will be traveling to Sochi in February. The USA has invited a total of 48 players to their camp and Canada has asked 47 players to their’s. The two rosters read as a who’s who in the NHL, so the competition will be very tough. It is safe to say Kane, Toews and Keith are “sure things” to make their national teams. Seabrook, Sharp, Crawford, Saad and Leddy will need to work a bit to get their spot on their respective nation’s team.

Other Blackhawks that could be making the trip to Russia include Marian Hossa (Slovakia), and our Swedish brigade of Niklas Hjalmarsson, Johnny Oduya and Marcus Kruger.
