The Chicago Blackhawks are artists
They’ve created holiday cards for us!
We know the Chicago Blackhawks are a talented group. That’s just one of many reasons they’ve been so successful at hockey.
But do they have talents that translate to other areas? Say, the world of art? The team gave us the chance to find out, as a group of players got into the holiday spirit and painted some cards.
And here they are, in all their glory: available for purchase, with proceeds going to charity.
What’s better than having an authentic Blackhawk work of art, and being able to donate in the process? I can’t imagine much.
Some of the best parts? Marian Hossa said he’s a terrible artist, but his is actually a pretty cute card.
Scott Darling getting nervous about how good Corey Crawford’s piece is is just perfect goalie banter - but aw, poor Nick Schmaltz. (And I should mention that this isn’t the first time Darling has showed off his work!)
My personal favorites? I love Jonathan Toews’ ambition in painting Rudolph - and Artemi Panarin’s minimalist Christmas tree (the top one in the group shot) is actually really, really pretty.
These are a pretty good set! Props to the artists on the Hawks for putting themselves out there like this.
