Watch: Artemi Panarin scores 2 goals for Russia at World Championships
The 24-year-old forward has a big day for the hosts on Victory Day.
One day after suffering a shoulder contusion, Artemi Panarin returned the ice for Russia on Victory Day.
The Chicago Blackhawks forward scored two goals and added two assists for a four-point outing in Russia's 4-0 win over Latvia on Day 4 of the 2016 World Championships. The Russians improved to 2-1 in the tournament after dropping their tournament opener.
Panarin's four points during the game are a tournament-high for a Blackhawks player. The 24-year-old is the lone Chicago player to score a goal in the tournament.
He scored his first goal just 29 seconds into the second period off a beautiful feed from Pavel Datsyuk to open the scoring.

His second tally came on the power play at 17:30 of the game for the final 4-0 score.

In last year's tournament, Panarin scored five goals with five assist for Russia en route to a silver-medal finish. He score 30 goals and 77 points in 80 games during his rookie season with Chicago. He added two goals and five assists in seven playoff games.
