Watch: Blackhawks’ Ryan Hartman levels Ducks’ Jakob Silfverberg with clean hit
What. A. Hit.
Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Hartman isn’t going to let his season end without some noise.
Hartman delivered a crushing blow to Anaheim Ducks’ Jakob Silfverberg late in the second period. Silfverberg skated into the zone with his head down and Hartman delivered a clean check to the body to level the Swedish winger.

The hit sent the United Center crowd into the frenzy before the Ducks’ alternate captain Ryan Getzlaf and defenseman Josh Manson jumped Hartman. Manson landed a punch on Hartman and was give two double minor penalties for roughing. Hartman was also given a two-minute roughing penalty despite delivering a clean hit and not throwing a punch.

Hartman, the Hawks’ 2013 first-round pick, is no stranger to getting under opposing players’ skin.
“He loves it,” longtime teammate Vinnie Hinostroza told the Chicago Sun-Times last year. “It’s just the type of guy he is. It’s hilarious when we’re on the bench and you see that. It gets guys going.”
