World Cup of Hockey game thread and schedule for Monday

All eyes are focused on the USA-Canada matchup awaiting the World Cup on Tuesday, but there are still a couple of big games Monday. At night, Team North America will take on Team Russia in what’s arguably my most anticipated game of the whole tournament. If you like speed and scoring, there’s a good chance that this is the game you’ll want to tune in for.

The amount of offensive talent on display in that matchup will be remarkable. Team North America has skated circles around its opponents so far with a U-23 group led by Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, Johnny Gaudreau and Brandon Saad. The Russians, meanwhile, have Alex Ovechkin, Vladimir Tarasenko, Evgeni Malkin, Artemi Panarin, Pavel Datsyuk, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nikita Kucherov.

Seriously, watch that game.

And during the day, WE HAVE DAY HOCKEY. A matchup between Team Czech Republic and Team Europe features two of the weaker teams in the tournament, but if you’re going to complain about real hockey on a Monday afternoon in mid-September, WHY DON’T YOU JUST GET OUTTA HERE!! **points toward door**

Here’s the schedule for Monday.
