Havlat and Khabibulin make all star ballot; Perreault to top line

The Blackhawks’ official site reports today that Nikolai Khabibulin and Martin Havlat have made the All Star ballot for this year’s All Star Game in Atlanta, which will be played on January 27th. I hate to say it, but right now neither of them look like All Star material. Khabibulin has struggled quite a bit in goal lately, and Havlat obviously has been injured since opening night. Who knows, though? Khabby might turn it up a notch and if Havlat returns this homestand, as rumored, he could conceivably tear it up offensively.

Also, apparently it looks like Yanic Perreault is going to be playing on the top line for the Hawks with Robert Lang and Jason Williams. I guess this is an OK move by Savard; Perreault is an excellent face-off man and I think a better scorer than he has shown so far this year. Maybe a promotion to the top line is what he needs to start lighting the lamp more often.
