Kris Versteeg could miss the start of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Chicago Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters Thursday that Versteeg is suffering from a lower-body injury and is listed day-to-day.
Quenneville also said he believes the injury is not serious.
Versteeg had one goal in six games in the first round against the Nashville Predators. The forward played left wing on the second line with center Brad Richards and winger Patrick Kane. During practices this week, Bryan Bickell has occupied Versteeg’s spot on the second line, while Teuvo Teravainen has moved to the third line.
Bickell has eight goals and two assists in 12 regular-season games and seven goals and three assists in 11 playoff games over the last three seasons against the Wild.
The Blackhawks open their second-round matchup against the Minnesota Wild on Friday night at the United Center.
