‘Easy decision’: Scott Darling will start Game 4 for Blackhawks against Predators

The Chicago Blackhawks will start Scott Darling in goal again in Game 4 against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday after he was steady in leading Chicago to a 4-2 win in Game 3, coach Joel Quenneville announced Monday.

The Hawks backup, Darling stopped 35 of 37 shots he faced Sunday as he got the nod in place of Corey Crawford. Darling has both wins for Chicago in the first-round series, which it leads 2-1. Crawford allowed six goals in the lone loss in Game 2 in Nashville.

Darling stopped all 42 shots he faced in Game 1 in relief of Crawford, who has allowed nine goals on 47 shots in the series.

In the regular season, Crawford was 32-20-5 with a 2.27 goals-against average and .924 save percentage. Darling was a mere 9-4-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .936 save percentage. In his two playoff appearances, Darling has posted a 0.94 GAA and .975 save percentage.
