2017 NHL Draft Lottery: How to Watch, TV, schedule, time, odds

The 2017 NHL Draft Lottery, which determines the first 14 picks in the first round of this year’s draft, will be announced at 6:30 p.m. CT Saturday in Toronto on NBC.

The lottery is a weighted system implemented to determine the order of selection in the first round of the draft, which will take place June 23-24 at United Center in Chicago.

There are three drawings to award the first three picks, the rest of the picks from four through 14 are then awarded in descending order to the remaining teams.

As an added wrinkle for this year, the expansion Vegas Golden Knights also have a chance to win the top pick. They’ve been granted the same odds as the third-worst regular-season team, the Arizona Coyotes.

Nolan Patrick of the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings and Nico Hischier of QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads have been ranked No. 1-2 in prospect rankings for most of the season.
