2018 Stanley Cup Final: Game 1 open thread

The Washington Capitals visit the expansion Vegas Golden Knights for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Both teams are looking for their first win in a Stanley Cup Final. Washington is in the Cup Final for the first time in 20 years, when they were swept by the Detroit Red Wings.

This is the first Cup Final since 2007 to feature two teams that have not previously won a Stanley Cup.

Vegas won both regular-season meetings between the two teams, 3-0 behind 26 saves by Marc-Andre Fleury on Dec. 23, 2017, in Las Vegas, and 4-3 on an Alex Tuch goal with 5:12 remaining Feb. 4 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Defenseman Michal Kempny, who was traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Capitals before the trade deadline this spring, has one goal and one assist in 19 playoff games.
