2018 Stanley Cup playoffs: April 16 open thread

Monday’s four games in the Stanley Cup playoffs will essentially be a must-win for four teams.

The day features four series with 2-0 series lead. The teams trailing in their series must win to increase their odds at advancing or they’ll have to make a historic comeback down 3-0. Only four teams in NHL history have rallied from a 3-0 deficit: Toronto Maple Leafs (1942 Cup Final), New York Islander (1975 quarterfinal), Philadelphia Flyers (2010 conference semifinal) and Los Angles Kings (2014 quarterfinal).

The Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche all trail 2-0 in their respective series after dropping the first two games on the road. The Anaheim Ducks are in a 2-0 hole after failing to win two home games to start the series. Last year, the Ducks also dropped the first two games before rallying to win the opening-round series against the Edmonton Oilers.
