2018 Stanley Cup playoffs: April 19 open thread

There are only two games on the schedule for Thursday after the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 on Tuesday to advance to the second round.

The two series going on Thursday have seen opposite results thus far. In the Boston Bruins-Toronto Maple Leafs series, the home team has won each game while the Columbus Blue Jackets-Washington Capitals series has seen the visitors skate away victorious.

After falling in a 2-0 series hole, Toronto bounced back with a 4-2 home win over Boston in Game 3. Likewise, the Capitals also claimed their first win in their series against the Blue Jackets, but needed two overtime sessions to finally earn it.

The Columbus-Washington series has seen every game go to overtime. It’s the sixth series in Stanley Cup playoffs’ history to start with three consecutive overtime games. The most recent was last year when Washington played Toronto.

Former Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin is in a three-way tied for second in playoff scoring at seven points.

Here’s the schedule for Thursday’s two games:
