2018 Stanley Cup playoffs: April 30 open thread

There are two Stanley Cup playoff games Monday, with a Game 2 in the Eastern Conference and a Game 3 in the Western Conference.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will try to rebound from a 6-2 home loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 1 to even the series. The Bruins’ top line of Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak stayed hot with three goals and eight assists to hand Tampa Bay its first home loss in the playoffs. Pastrnak is tied with Pittsburgh Jake Guentzel for the playoff lead in points with 17. Marchand (13) is third and Bergeron (11) is tied with Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin for fourth.

In a season full of first, the Vegas Golden Knights were dealt their first playoff loss in Game 2 against the San Jose Sharks. San Jose went 2-0 at home against Anaheim in the first round, while Vegas won two games in Los Angeles.

The Golden Knights and Sharks split two regular-season games in San Jose. Vegas won 5-3 on Feb. 8, while the Sharks won 2-1 in overtime March 22.
