2018 Stanley Cup playoffs: April 23 open thread

There are two Stanley Cup playoff games on the schedule for Monday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets look to do what the Colorado Avalanche and Philadelphia Flyers couldn’t do Sunday — win at home to force a Game 7.

Columbus jumped out to a 2-0 series lead, but the Washington Capitals have won three straight to put them one victory away from playing the two-time reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round. The Blue Jackets haven’t performed well in front of their home crowd at Nationwide Arena with just a 2-7 record in the playoffs and 1-2 when facing elimination at home.

Columbus head coach John Tortorella is high on his team, guaranteeing a Game 7 on Wednesday in Washington.

The Boston Bruins hope goaltender Tuuka Rask rebounds after allowing four goals in a Game 5 loss to Toronto. The winner of this series will play the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round.

Here’s the schedule for Monday’s two games:
