The Blues and Bruins enter Game 5 on Thursday at TD Garden in Boston with the Stanley Cup Final series tied 2-2.
St. Louis pulled the series even with a 4-2 win Sunday. Ryan O’Reilly scored a goal midway through the third period and goaltender Jordan Binnington made 21 saves to lift the Blues to their first Cup Final victory on home ice in franchise history. The Blues also benefitted from Bruins captain Zdeno Chara missing the entire third period after a puck fractured his jaw in the middle frame. Boston is now 0-2 in the series when losing a defenseman to injury.
The two teams split the first two games at TD Garden, with the Bruins winning 4-2 in Game 1 then the Blues grabbing a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 2. The Blues have found plenty of success away from home in the playoffs with a 8-3 record.
