2019 Stanley Cup playoffs: April 21 open thread

There are two elimination games on tap for Sunday.

The first one sees the Maple Leafs try to win their first Stanley Cup playoff series in 15 years when they host the Bruins. Toronto will advance to second round for the first time since defeating the Senators in the first round in 2004 by winning Game 6. The Bruins and Maple Leafs have traded wins in this year’s series.

The Boston-Toronto series winner will face the Blue Jackets, who swept the Presidents’ Trophy winning Lightning.

The Golden Knights have another chance to eliminate the Sharks in Game 6. Vegas were unable to close out the series in Game 5 on Thursday, when they fell 5-2 in San Jose. The Golden Knights outscored the Sharks 10-2 in Games 3 and 4 in Vegas.

The Golden Knights-Sharks series winner will meet the Avalanche, who ousted the Western Conference’s top-seeded Flames in five games.
