2019 Stanley Cup playoffs: May 1 open thread

There is one Game 3 and a Game 4 on the schedule Wednesday.

The Hurricanes will be without goaltender Petr Mrazek, who was injured in Game 2, and turn to veteran Curtis McElhinney in net as they try to go up 3-0 in the series against the Islanders. New York has only scored one goal in the series, and will likely be without forward Cal Clutterbuck. Carolina, however, could have rookie Andrei Svechnikov return to the lineup. Svechnikov has been out since Game 3 of the first round after a fight with Alex Ovechkin.

Hurricanes: Trevor van Riemsdyk, Jaccob Slavin (Steel alum), Teuvo Teravainen

Islanders: Nick Leddy

The Blues seek a 3-1 series lead in their series against the Stars when they visit Dallas for Game 4. St. Louis is 4-0 on the road in this year’s playoffs. This is familiar for Dallas, who won three straight games after falling behind 2-1 to Nashville in the first round.

Stars: Jamie Oleksiak (Steel alum)

Wednesday’s schedule

Game 3: Islanders at Hurricanes, 6 p.m. (NBCSN), CAR 2-0

Game 4: Blues at Stars, 8:30 p.m. (NBCSN), STL 2-1
