2020 NHL Draft: How to watch first round on TV, online

For the first time in franchise history, the Blackhawks will be selecting 17th overall in the NHL Draft, which begins Tuesday night.

The draft was originally scheduled for June 25-26 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. However, like everything else in 2020, those circumstances were changed by the coronavirus pandemic. The NHL postseason was completed last week in the “bubble” city of Edmonton, while this year’s draft will be a virtual event. The draft is split into two days, with the first round at 6 p.m. Tuesday, followed by rounds 2-7 on Wednesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Rangers have the No. 1 overall pick and are expected to take consensus top prospect Alexis Lafreniere. The Kings pick second, the Senators have the third and fifth picks and the Red Wings have the No. 4 pick.

Chicago has seven picks in this year’s draft, including two in the third round.

SCH will have a “game thread” for each day of the draft for community members to share their thoughts on the draft.
