An open thread to discuss all of the weekend’s Stanley Cup Playoffs action.
It’s a busy weekend in the hockey world, with all eight Stanley Cup Playoff series taking the ice.
It starts Saturday afternoon with Tampa looking to take a 3-1 series lead over Florida in Game 4 of the Battle of Florida. The action heads northeast from there, with Pittsburgh owning a 2-1 series lead ahead of Game 4 at the Islanders. North of the border, Montreal and Toronto meet for Game 2 with the Maple Leafs looking to avenge a Game 1 loss at home. In the nightcap, Minnesota hosts Vegas in Game 4 with a chance to even the series at two games apiece.
On Sunday, another afternoon start has Central Division foes Carolina and Nashville squaring off in Game 4, with the Hurricanes up 2-1 in the series. Later that day, Colorado will attempt a sweep of the Blues during Game 4 in St. Louis. Washington is back home for Game 5 against Boston on Sunday night, with the Capitals on the verge of elimination. And the nightcap is north of the border where Winnipeg returns home for Game 3 after winning the first two games of the series in Edmonton.
