Toews and Seabrook will wear A’s this month

From ChicagoBlackhawks.com:

Brent Seabrook and Jonathan Toews share the same address. Now the roomies get to share the same letter on their sweaters as well.

Blackhawks head coach Denis Savard announced Monday that Seabrook and Toews would wear the alternate captain’s ‘A’ for the month of December along with veteran winger Martin Lapointe, who has worn the letter all season with a pair of rotating alternates.

Savard admitted he had not planned for the rookie Toews to wear a letter this soon, but said the 19 year-old had “earned it.” Savard admires Toews’ work ethic on and off the ice as much as he does his 10 goals and 10 assists in 24 games.

Good move, because I think both of these guys have proven to be young leaders for this team and it’s already been said that Toews will be a captain sooner or later, perhaps as early as next season. Seabrook has been said to be a vocal leader in the locker room and also on the ice, and is turning into a good young defenseman. It’s pretty amazing that guys this young are already prepared to take on leadership roles on this team.
