Blackhawks prospect Alex DeBrincat wins OHL scoring title

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Alex DeBrincat officially won the OHL scoring title with the conclusion of the league’s regular season this week. The forward finished with 127 points in 63 games, beating out teammate Taylor Raddysh by 18 points to top the leaderboard.

DeBrincat, the Hawks’ top prospect, just wrapped up one of the most impressive OHL seasons in recent memory. He dominated the league with 65 goals (nobody else had more than 48), and somehow managed to do it primarily at even strength. Only 15 of his goals came during special teams action.

Now his team, the Erie Otters, enters the OHL playoffs as one of the favorites to win the championship. With DeBrincat, Lightning prospect Raddysh, and Coyotes prospect Dylan Strome leading the way, Erie is going to be a tough out.
