The important thing, of course, is that the Chicago Blackhawks outscored the Detroit Red Wings. That’s the number one takeaway from their latest game against them.
Less important, but still nice to note, is that they outshot them in the process of defeating them. The Hawks outshot the Wings 43-36 and it was, of course, that final shot that made the ultimate difference.
The really cool thing? If you look at the boxscore, you’ll note a lack of zeroes – because every skater had at least one shot on net.

This was the first regular-season NHL game in which that many players recorded a shot on goal since March 15, 1997, when the Canucks beat the Lightning, 5–2, and all 18 skaters on each side had at least one shot on target.
Four Wings only had one shot on net, while five Hawks did. That’s still everybody getting a shot, though – except for the goalies, of course, who just had to deal with everybody else.
Artemi Panarin led the way with five shots on goal, because of course he did, while Duncan Keith had four (and again: it was that last one that really worked out well).
Maybe the most impressive shot-metric performances, though? Ryan Hartman played just 11:03, and Tanner Kero just 10:52 – and both had four shots on net themselves, too, so it’s really nice to see they got rewarded offensively while they were at it.
