Blackhawks’ 2017 prospect camp set for July 17-21

The Chicago Blackhawks’ 2017 prospect camp is set for July 17-21 at Johnny’s IceHouse West in Chicago. The team announced the dates on Monday.

This year’s prospect camp will be interesting with several names looking like potential NHL options next season. Alex DeBrincat tops that list after three spectacular years in the OHL. If he’s going to be on the Hawks’ opening night roster, he’ll need to start making that case next month.

Other prospects in the organization who could be at the camp include Ville Pokka, Chad Krys, Alexandre Fortin, Lucas Carlsson, Graham Knott, Carl Dahlstrom, Nathan Noel, Luc Snuggerud, Anthony Louis, Matheson Iacopeli, Henri Jokiharju, Ian Mitchell, Andrei Altybarmakyan, Evan Barratt, and Tim Soderlund.

The Hawks did not announce who will be attending Monday, saying “a complete roster for prospect camp will be released at a later date.”

On-ice sessions for the camp will run from 1-5 p.m. on July 17-20. On July 21, there will be a scrimmage at 9:30 a.m. Last year’s prospect camp ran from July 10-15, so this one is taking place a week later.
