Here’s the Blackhawks’ tribute video to Andrew Shaw

The Chicago Blackhawks are getting used to welcoming back former players. And when they do, it has become a custom to play a tribute video to remember the memories the player had while donning the red and white sweater for Chicago.

On Sunday, the Hawks played a tribute video for Andrew Shaw. The forward won two Stanley Cups in 2013 and 2015 during his five-year stint with Chicago before being dealt to Montreal for two second-round picks on June 24. He signed a six-year extension worth $23.4 million with the Canadiens four days later.

Shaw has no shortage of fans in Chicago, so it wasn’t surprising to see the raucous reaction he got in the United Center when the video started playing. Few guys played bigger roles in the Hawks’ two most recent Stanley Cups, and his ferocious style endeared him to fans in a way that will be difficult to replicate.

Now he’s on the Canadiens, and we’re getting used to seeing him on the other side. The video above reminds us that those good times were really, really good, though.
