Blackhawks announce 2018-19 regular-season schedule

The Chicago Blackhawks will begin their quest to return to the playoffs Oct. 4 in Ottawa against the Senators to open their 2018-19 regular-season at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Blackhawks finished with a 33-19-10 record last season, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Chicago went 2-0 against Ottawa last season, with a 8-2 victory Jan. 9 in the Canadian capital city before a 3-2 shootout win Feb. 21 at home.

After their 2018-19 season opener, the Hawks will travel to St. Louis on Oct. 6 before hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs for their home opener at the United Center.

Chicago will also host the Boston Bruins in the 2019 Winter Classic on New Year’s Day at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. It’ll be the 10-year anniversary since the Hawks’ first outdoor game against Detroit at Wrigley Field.

The Hawks’ longest homestand of the season will be four games from Dec. 12 to Dec. 18, while, they have no road trips longer than three games. They’ll face 14 back-to-back sets, and their bye week comes at the end of January.

The seven-team Central Division will play 26 divisional games, including its last four games of the season. Chicago will play three games each against all eight Pacific Division teams.

The remaining 32 games on the Hawks’ 82-game schedule will be made up of a home-and-home series against each of the 16 teams in the Eastern Conference.
