Blackhawks Bits: Katchouk placed on waivers; Roos recalled from Rockford

A couple quick news items to share from Monday’s practice-less day before the Blackhawks hit the road for two away games this week.

The primary news of the day was forward Boris Katchouk being placed on waivers:

Katchouk has played in just 17 games this season and hasn’t seen ice time with the Blackhawks since Dec. 3. It probably wasn’t a good sign for him that Joey Anderson and Cole Guttman were both recalled from Rockford and have been lineup staples since. The plan for Katchouk appears to be getting him back on the ice but down in the AHL, per the tweet below from Scott Powers of The Athletic:

Elsewhere in the Chicago lineup, Jarred Tinordi was placed on injured reserve while remaining in concussion protocol. That move opened up a roster spot which was filled by Filip Roos, who’ll be joining Chicago for the upcoming trips to the northwestern portions of the continent.

This would also suggest that a Blackhawks youngster is likely not to see the ice in either of the upcoming road games:
