Morning Bag Skate: The end of the preseason is here

The final day of the Chicago Blackhawks preseason has arrived, putting us just days away from the first real puck drop of the season. Coming off a rather disappointing loss to Montreal on Wednesday, the Hawks look to rebound at Madison Square Garden against the Rangers. We’re expecting Teuvo Teravainen to play, and at this point, that’s really all I care about before the regular season begins. Here’s your news to start off the day.

**The Blackhawks aren’t worried about their power play issues — now 0-for-17 in the preseason — at this point, and neither am I. (CSN Chicago)

**The Hawks stirred things up by recalling Klas Dahlbeck from Rockford abruptly on Thursday. The sign of a deal? Maybe not, but we’re closing in on the deadline to be cap compliant. (SCH)

**Second City Hockey preview content roundup (SCH)

**Bobby Ryan signed a massive extension with the Senators: 7 years, $50.75 million. That’s an annual cap hit of $7.25 million for the talented winger. (Yahoo! Sports)

**Ottawa also named Erik Karlsson its ninth captain in franchise history (Senators)

**The Coyotes are reportedly in “advanced negotiations” with Andrew Barroway to become majority owner. Barroway was rejected when he bid for the Islanders earlier this year. (NY Post)

**The Stars and defenseman Brenden Dillon finally agreed to a deal. It’s worth $1.25 million over one year. (Pro Hockey Talk)

**That’s good news, because Dallas will be without Sergei Gonchar for a while due to a lower body injury (Pro Hockey Talk)

**The Wild claimed defenseman Nate Prosser off waivers from the Blues (Pioneer Press)

**The Ducks are holding a “Girls Play Hockey Night” at Honda Center that includes U.S. Olympian Hilary Knight actually practicing with the team. Pretty cool move by Anaheim. (Ducks)

**The Penguins released Daniel Carcillo from his tryout contract (Penguins)

**Ray Shero and George McPhee are ready to get back into the NHL front office game (ESPN)
