Happy Tuesday morning! SB Nation rolled out its big 2014-15 NHL season preview on Monday, which we contributed to, and as part of that, we’re also running lots of other content here this week. Some of that went up yesterday, including answers to three big questions facing the Hawks and a look at the Central Division. **More cuts for the Blackhawks on Monday. The roster will soon sit at 28, with just a few more moves to go. (Second City Hockey)
**Marian Hossa missed practice Monday with a minor injury, but we’re not going to sweat this one since he’s expected back today (CSN Chicago)
**The Avalanche extended defenseman Brad Stuart on a two-year, $7.2 million contract, which is probably as crazy as it sounds. The veteran, who turns 35 in November, has recorded 17 points in 109 games while watching his playing time steadily decline over the past two seasons. (TSN)
**Colorado forward Cody McLeod signed a three-year, $4 million deal as well (Denver Post)
**The Stars got Cody Eakin under contract for $3.8 million over two years, good for a $1.9 million cap hit. Dallas still needs to hammer out a deal with its other remaining RFA, Brendan Dillon. (Dallas Morning News)
**Boston signed defenseman Torey Krug and forward Reilly Smith to identical one-year, $1.4 million contracts. Seems like pretty solid value. (Bruins)
**The Bruins also let go Ville Leino from his tryout deal (Bruins)
**Another blow for Columbus, which will be without Boone Jenner for 4-to-6 weeks after he broke his hand (Columbus Dispatch)
**A mediocre Eastern Conference will only mean more craziness come playoff time. (SB Nation)
**The next face of American hockey might be Jack Eichel, but he’ll have to rip that title from Patrick Kane’s cold, dead — or not dead, I suppose — hands (SB Nation)
