Chris Calnan’s injury-filled junior season at Boston College is stilling lingering.
Calnan, who was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round of the 2012 NHL draft, appeared on crutches Thursday night during Hockey East ceremony at Fenway Park, according to SB Nation College Hockey.com.

The Norwell, Mass. native suffered a dislocated shoulder last November before he was hit with a stress fracture in his ankle. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound forward finished his junior season with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 29 games. As a sophomore he tallied 16 points (11 goals, five assists) in 37 games.
Calnan, the nephew of former Blackhawk Jeremy Roenick, was ranked No. 63 in SB Nation College Hockey’s 2016 Top 100 college prospect list.
Calnan is often overshadowed by some of the bigger name prospects on Boston College’s roster, but he’s a player that quietly goes about his business and is extremely effective, even if his goal-scoring numbers took a bit of a dip in his second season. He doesn’t stand out in any particular area with mind-blowing skills, but is a smart, effective hockey player that could make him a reliable NHL player for a long time.
