Blackhawks’ prospect Graham Knott, Niagara IceDogs advance to OHL Playoffs Cup Final

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Graham Knott and the Niagara IceDogs completed a four-game sweep with a 3-2 win over the Barrie Colts on Wednesday to win the Bobby Orr Trophy and advance to the OHL Playoffs Cup Final.

Knott was selected with the 52th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft by Chicago. The 6-foot-3, 187-pound forward scored one goal in the series against Barrie and fellow 2015 sixth-round pick Roy Radke.

Knott has two goals and two assists in 12 playoff games for the IceDogs, while Radke was held scoreless in 14 postseason games after scoring 19 goals and 39 total points in 66 games.

The IceDogs will face the London Knight, who swept the Erie Otters to win the Western Conference and the Wayne Gretzky Trophy. London has won the OHL three times, while the IceDogs have never won.

The OHL champion will hoist the J. Ross Robertson Cup and earn a berth in Memorial Cup, which is a four-team, round robin tournament between a host and the champions of the Canadian Hockey League’s three leagues: OHL, QMJHL and WHL.
