Teuvo Time is over in Chicago, at least for now.
The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned the Finnish forward to Rockford of the American Hockey League, and recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey and forward Ryan Hartman, according to multiple reports. ESPN’s Scott Powers was first.
Teravainen, 20, tallied four points (2G, 2A) in 15 games with Chicago this season. He has recorded 23 points (6G, 17A) and 92 shots on goal in 33 games with Rockford during the year.
Cumiskey, 28, ranks third among IceHogs defensemen with 11 points (1G, 10A) in 38 games. He skated in four preseason games with the Blackhawks this fall. Hartman, a West Dundee, Ill., native, has 18 points (8G, 10A) in 47 games with the IceHogs. His eight goals tie for third on the club. The 20-year-old forward was the Blackhawks’ first-round pick (30th overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
So the ‘Hawks now have Tim Erixon and Kyle Cumiskey to choose from on the blue line over Johnny Oduya and Michal Rozsival, who have been horrendous of late. But this also means Teravainen is gone and Daniel Carcillo will play for now while Hartman enjoys the view from the press box.
