Patrick Kane sets career-high with 5 points vs. Senators

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane set a career-high with five points in the team’s game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night. The performance included four assists, another career-high, and a power play goal in the Blackhawks’ second-best offensive effort of the season.

Kane has recorded four points in his career many times, including in the season opener against the Penguins on Oct. 5, but this is the first time he’s reached five. It’s one point behind the franchise record of six held by Denis Savard (1987), Steve Larmer (1992) and Bernie Nicholls (1995).

The final point of the night came on an impressive, patient shot on a power play in the third period of a game that was already out of hand.

Kane is now up to 45 points in 42 games with the Hawks this season. It would be the third consecutive season, and the fourth season of his career, in which he’s averaged at least a point per game.

Other members of the current Blackhawks to record five points in a game are Jonathan Toews and Ryan Hartman. Toews has done it twice, including in February 2017 against the Wild, while Hartman did it in the season opener against Pittsburgh this season.
