The Chicago Blackhawks officially announced the signing of forward Dominik Kahun and three others Monday.
Chicago also signed defensive prospects Lucas Carlsson (2016 fourth-rounder) and Darren Raddysh as well as Finnish goaltender Kevin Lankinen. Kahun, Lankinen and Raddysh were signed two-year contracts, while Carlsson took a three-year deal.
Kahun, an undrafted free agent, played the past three seasons with Red Bull EHC Munchen in Germany’s top league. The team won the league championship each year with Kahun. During the 2017-18 season, the 22-year-old recorded 41 points in 42 regular season games, then racked up 14 points in 17 playoff games.
The Czech-born player also had two goals and three assists for Germany in their silver-medal run at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Carlsson, 20, posted a career-high 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 44 games this past season for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League. The 6-foot, 190-pound defenseman has 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists) in 136 career SHL games. He ranked No. 9 in Second City Hockey’s Top 25 Under 25 series in 2017, only second to Henri Jokiharu among defenseman without NHL experience.
Raddysh, 22, recorded 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 66 games during his first professional season with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. The 6-foot, 201-pound blueliner signed as an undrafted free agent with Chicago after helping the Erie Otters win the J Robertson Cup and being named the Ontario Hockey League’s Most Outstanding Defenseman following an 81-point (16 goals, 65 assists) season.
Lankinen, 23, posted career marks in goals-against average (1.33) and save percentage (.946) in 15 games this past season with HIFK in the SM-liiga, Finland’s top league. He also recorded a 1.99 GAA and .936 save percentage in 13 playoff outings.
