Blackhawks playoff picture: April 9

The Chicago Blackhawks have three days left in the regular-season and are fighting for a playoff seeding. Each day until the end of the regular-season, we’ll breakdown their chances at seeding in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Wednesday’s results

The Anaheim Ducks lost to the Dallas Stars and failed to clinch the top overall seed in the Western Conference.

Thursday’s scoreboard watch

It’s another jam packed night for the Central Division. The Blackhawks and St. Blues Blues faceoff again, this time in St. Louis. The Minnesota Wild play on the road against the Nashville Predators. The Winnipeg Jets look to clinch the final playoff spot in the West with a victory over the Colorado Avalanche on the road.

Conference Standings

Blackhawks’ outlook

The Predators let the division title get away from them and it’s still a three-team race. The Blackhawks can finish as high as the division champions to as low as the first wild-card spot. The Hawks need to win against the Blues to keep their chances at a division title alive. The Blues can clinch the division with a win in any fashion AND with a Predators loss in regulation.
