Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets prospect tournament championship game live thread

The Chicago Blackhawks won’t be playing meaningful hockey for a few more weeks, but the championship game in Traverse City is close enough. The Hawks prospect take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. ET in their final chance to impress team officials before training camp.

It’s been an interesting tournament in Traverse City, where the Blackhawks beat the Hurricanes, 9-2, on Monday night to clinch their spot in the title game. Alex DeBrincat has been fantastic so far, scoring a goal in all three games, and Luc Snuggerud went off for five points against Carolina.

Coverage of the action will be live streamed on NHL.com, and while it’s not the crisp 1080p feeds you’re used to from the United Center, it’s still fun watching the Hawks’ prospects go at it in a competitive setting.

The preseason doesn’t begin for another week, but this is a good chance to catch some real hockey in the meantime. DeBrincat is proving to be must-watch material, too, so you’ll want to see him before he potentially gets sent down to Rockford to open the season.
