The Chicago Blackhawks live to fight another day after a 4-3 double overtime victory over the St. Louis Blues in Game 5 on Thursday night. Patrick Kane scored the game-winner on a wraparound at 3:07 in the second extra session.

Game 6 will be at 7 p.m. CT Saturday at the United Center.
Kane may have been the hero in the spotlight, but it was Corey Crawford who kept Chicago’s postseason alive all game along with 43 saves, including 11 in the first overtime.
The Hawks blew another lead in the third period, this time their first two-goal lead of the series. However, unlike in Game 3, this blown lead only meant overtime, not outright defeat, and Chicago prevailed in extra time in front of a pumped up opposing crowd. It was a great moment for the team, even if it needs two more victories to get out of this series alive.
Marian Hossa opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the second period, but the Blackhawks couldn’t complete the penalty kill with the lead intact. Jaden Schwartz scored quickly afterwards to tie the game. Chicago responded from there with two scores before the intermission — one by Artem Anisimov, another by Artemi Panarin just before the buzzer.
Robby Fabbri cut the lead to one goal with about 13 minutes left in regulation, then David Backes re-directed one past Crawford to tie the game. St. Louis had a 34-26 shot advantage during the first three periods as things headed to overtime. In the extra period, the Blues got the first five shots on goal before the Hawks responded with some chances. But time and time again, Crawford came up big.
But the Hawks survived for at least another game.
