It’s a night of mixed feelings for the Blackhawks. Antoine Vermette and Kimmo Timonen have arrived and are playing against the Hurricanes, but it’s also the team’s first game in a long time without Ben Smith. The team is admittedly better off now — it meant keeping Teuvo Teravainen up — but Smith was a favorite among a lot of fans and it was sad to have him leave so unceremoniously.
