David Kampf calls scoring 1st NHL goal on his birthday the ‘best day of his life’
It was a special 23rd birthday for the Blackhawks center.
Blackhawks forward David Kampf said his 23rd birthday was the “best day of his life” after scoring his first-ever NHL goal in Chicago’s 2-1 win over the Jets. It might be hard for him to top this in the future.

Kampf, an undrafted free agent signee by the Blackhawks in the spring of 2017, has carved out a spot on the third line with Artem Anisimov on injured reserve. He had three assists in his last five games, but his breakout multi-point performance naturally waited until Friday.
Here’s the goal that gave the Blackhawks the lead for good over the Jets.
