The Blackhawks‘ preseason continues Thursday night with an exhibition matchup against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. It’ll be tougher keeping up with this one as it’s not broadcast on television, but the power of the Internet shall keep us informed as many of the young guys get extended opportunities.
When and where? The game starts at 6:30 p.m. CT from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
We saw a lot of the bigger names in the preseason opener at the United Center on Tuesday, but that won’t be the case in Detroit. Every guy from the top two lines, including both forwards and d-men, will be out. Corey Crawford is getting the day off, too. According to NHL.com’s Brian Hedger, here are the lines for tonight’s game:
Forwards
Bryan Bickell | Andrew Shaw | Ben Smith |
Pierre-Cedric Labrie | Marcus Kruger | Jeremy Morin |
Garret Ross | Mark McNeill | Peter Regin |
Matt Carey | Drew LeBlanc | Alex Broadhurst |
Defensemen
Viktor Svedberg | David Rundblad |
Nick Leddy | Trevor van Riemsdyk |
Johnny Oduya | Adam Clendening |
Goaltenders
Antti Raanta |
Michael Leighton |
So we’ll get to some action from Andrew Shaw, which is good, and extended opportunities for guys like Morin, McNeill, Rundblad and Clendening will be nice, too. No Teuvo Teravainen or Joakim Nordstrom, though. It’s also too bad I have no idea how to watch this live. We’ll still have the game thread up later, and something resembling a recap, but in many ways, this will probably be the lamest game of the season.
