Blackhawks vs. Wild preview: Corey Crawford back in net, Daniel Carcillo eligible

Corey Crawford will be between the pipes as the Chicago Blackhawks face the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center.

Daniel Carcillo completed his six-game suspension for crosschecking Winnipeg forward Mathieu Perreault and is eligible to return. But the Blackhawks’ lines at practice remained the same, which leaves Carcillo a healthy scratch.

Chicago (31-17-2) has won four consecutive games against the Wild (23-20-6), including a 4-2 victory in Minnesota on Jan. 8.

Chicago have split the first four of a seven-game road trip, losing the California three-game swing 2-0 to the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Former Blackhawks goaltender Antti Niemi made 31 saves against his old club.

Antti Raanta made 18 saves for Chicago, which had scored at least three goals in five straight. Three happens to be a magic number for the Blackhawks this season.

Patrick Kane has scored 14 points over his past 10 games and is tied for second in the NHL with 56 points. The Blackhawks head north to Winnipeg before going to St. Louis to end their road trip. Chicago leads the Jets by four points for third place in the Central Division and four points back of the second-place Blues.

Crawford is 7-3-2 with a 2.24 goals-against average and .919 save percentage against Minnesota.

Opponent Breakdown: Minnesota Wild

Minnesota have won five of their last seven, including three straight.

The Wild acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Arizona Coyotes for a 2015 third-round pick in January, and he has gone 5-1-0 with a 1.71 GAA and .935 save percentage in seven games with two shutouts. Dubnyk posted a 1.00 GAA and .967 save percentage in three games last week.

Zach Parise, Thomas Vanek, Jared Spurgeon and Jason Zucker all scored the Wild in a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. Dubnyk gave up two goals within 61 seconds, but Zucker potted an empty-net tally for the win.

While Dubnyk has been great for the Wild, he has struggled in his career against the Blackhawks. In 10 meetings, he is 2-6-0 with a 4.28 GAA and .887 save percentage.
