Blackhawks week ahead: Chicago makes its first trip to Vegas

The Chicago Blackhawks have another three-game week with a back-to-back. Chicago will play its first game in Vegas against the Golden Knights on Tuesday before hosting Nashville on Friday and making a trip back out west to play at Colorado.

Chicago’s AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, will also have a back-to-back. Rockford hosts Milwaukee and Grand Rapids on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The IceHogs are off a 5-1 start and lead the Central Division.

Let’s take a look at the upcoming week in Blackhawks’ hockey (all times Central):

Monday, Oct. 23 – Idle

There are only two games on the schedule with Los Angeles in Toronto and the New York Rangers hosting San Jose with the latter on NHL Network.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 – Chicago at Vegas, 9 p.m. (NBCSCH)

Chicago makes its first to Sin City to play the expansion Golden Knights. Vegas is off a surprising 6-1 start and sit one point back of Los Angeles for the top spot in the Pacific Division. The Golden Knights’ lone loss this season came at home to Detroit.

Wednesday, Oct. 25 – Idle

There are two games on tap with Calgary in St. Louis and Columbus hosting Buffalo with the latter being on NBC Sports Network.

Thursday, Oct. 26 – Idle

Around the NHL: SJ at BOS, CAR at TOR, ARI at NYR, LA at MTL, PHI at OTT, DET at TB, ANA at FLA, WSH at VAN

Friday, Oct. 27 – Nashville at Chicago, 7:30 p.m. (NBCSCH, NHLN-US)

Chicago begins its first back-to-back with the second game this season against Nashville. The Hawks defeated the Predators 2-1 on Brandon Saad’s overtime goal. Patrick Sharp also scored for Chicago.

IceHogs: Milwaukee (Nashville) at Rockford, 7 p.m.

Around the NHL: OTT at NJ

Saturday, Oct. 28 – Chicago at Colorado, 8 p.m. (NBCSCH)

Chicago heads out to Colorado for its first of four games this season against the Avalanche. The Hawks were 3-1-1 against Colorado last season, including a 1-0-1 mark at Pepsi Center. Tanner Kero had two goals and an assist while Nick Schmaltz and Brent Seabrook each tallied a goal and an assist in Chicago’s win last season in Colorado.

IceHogs: Grand Rapids (Detroit) at Rockford, 6 p.m.

Central Division: COL at STL, NYI at NSH, PITT at MINN
