Brandon Bollig wanted to fight Jonathan Toews until the captain obliged

Brandon Bollig, good ol’ friend of Chicago, isn’t known to shy away from fights. Back when he was a teammate of Jonathan Toews on the Blackhawks, he was known as the team’s de facto enforcer. So when Bollig’s Flames took on Toews and the Hawks last week, he decided he’d ask the superstar center to throw off the gloves and have at it.

Except, nobody really wants to fight the baddest man in the wild West:

Props for Bollig on recognizing that Toews has been embracing the fisticuffs so far this season and backing off. The captain has already fought David Backes and Adam Henrique in the past three weeks. Maybe Bollig figured Toews wouldn’t actually want to throw down.

Now I’m kinda wishing we saw this fight, even though Toews fighting makes me want to put my head under the covers and wait til it’s over. We’ll see what happens when the two teams meet again Friday night at the Saddledome.

At least it sounds like the former teammates remain on good terms.
