Blackhawks to honor Brian Campbell with ‘One More Shift’

The Blackhawks will honor 2010 Stanley Cup champion and current player development coach Brian Campbell with a “One More Shift” pregame ceremony Thursday at the United Center.

The Blackhawks’ “One More Shift” program is an ode to former players that allows fans to recognize them one more time as they skate on the United Center ice. Campbell will take the ice during the national anthem after starting lineups are announced. In-arena elements will also feature highlights of his career with the Blackhawks.

Campbell signed as an unrestricted free agent with Chicago in July 2008 and played three seasons with the team, highlighted by recording the lone assist on Patrick Kane’s series-clinching goal to end the Blackhawks’ 49-year championship drought. Campbell was traded to the Panthers in 2011 then was re-acquired by Chicago in 2016 before retiring and taking on a player development role with the franchise.

Thursday’s game is one of four remaining nights commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 2010 Stanley Cup championship. There will also be “One More Shift” recognitions Dec. 15 and Jan. 7 during 2010 anniversary nights. The fifth and final anniversary night will be March 19, which will feature multiple members of the 2010 team.
