Another outdoor game, another fancy new jersey for the Chicago Blackhawks. Except instead of a proper unveiling, it looks like there was a shop.nhl.com leak involved and, well, there they are.
The Blues’ jerseys were found a little earlier, but we can understand their enthusiasm for it; playing outside is new to them, after all.
As Icethetics points out, the Blackhawks jersey is both new and kind of not. The Blackhawks certainly haven’t worn it before, but it does look like a mashup of their two most recent outdoor game jerseys, marrying blank shoulders with bottom striping while maintaining the elbow patch.
Plus the logo itself has a much more old-timey feel with the bold, black outlines gone.
Overall, it’s a nice little update, though it also does kind of you leave you wondering just how many more they can make.
