The Blackhawks under-25 player pool is starting to surface at the pro level. We’ve already touched on four players that have graduated or departed from Second City Hockey’s 2019-20 mid-season Top 25 Under 25 rankings, so we’ll focus on eligible players for the upcoming list. The age cutoff is Oct. 1, 2020.
There are four spots up for grabs, and some new faces will push the lower tier players out. The Blackhawks have added 14 players to the eligibility pool: Matej Chalupa (22), Slava Demin (20), Wyatt Kalynuk (23), Brad Morrison (23), Cam Morrison (22), Pius Suter (24) and eight more from the 2020 NHL Draft.
Demin, Kalynuk and Cam Morrison each fell into the honorable mention category for SB Nation’s Golden Knights, Flyers and Avalanche sites prior to be acquired by Chicago. Brad Morrison was not ranked by the Kings site.
There are 47 eligible players, which excludes players on AHL contracts with the Rockford IceHogs.
