Look: Blackhawks’ Alex DeBrincat reveals he’s shaved his quarantine beard

Alex DeBrincat is ready for a clean start.

The Blackhawks forward shared before and after photos of him with a beard and clean shaved Thursday in an Instagram story. Both photos also show he already has a framed picture of his new Shiba Inu dog, Burt.

DeBrincat, who signed a three-year contract extension worth $19.2 million in October, has 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 70 games this season. The Blackhawks were six points behind the Predators and Canucks for the second wild card from the Western Conference into the Stanley Cup Playoffs when the season was the NHL season was paused March 12 due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus. Chicago, however, would be a playoff team in the latest proposed 24-team playoff format.

DeBrincat, 22, has 173 points (87 goals, 86 assists) in 234 NHL games for Chicago, which selected him 39th overall in the 2016 NHL draft.
