The Blackhawks fired president and CEO John McDonough on Monday after he spent 13 seasons with the organization. He was hired as the team’s president in 2007 after 24 years with the Chicago Cubs. The Blackhawks added the CEO title to his name in 2011.

Blackhawks chairman Rocky Wirtz’s son Danny, the vice president of the Blackhawks, will serve as the interim president during the team’s search for a new president.
