Blackhawks’ Corey Crawford named NHL’s No. 1 star of the week

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford has been named the NHL’s No. 1 star of the week.

Crawford, 30, went 3-0-0 and boasting a .984 save percentage this week. He also posted two straight shutouts at home with a 2-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday, and a 4-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. During the four-game stretch, he has stopped 121 of his last 123 shots, including 30 on Sunday.

Crawford is currently tied for the league-lead in shutouts this season at four with St. Louis Blues goaltender Jake Allen and Minnesota Wild net minder Devan Dubnyk. He is 15-7-2 with a 2.23 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 24 games.

It is the first such honor of the season for Crawford.

Edmonton Oilers‘ forward Taylor Hall and Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk were named the No. 2 and No. 3 star of the week, respectively.
