Blackhawks among NHL teams to have new jerseys in 2019, per report

The Blackhawks will wear new jerseys in 2019, according to Icethetics.

Chicago is among 14 NHL teams that will reportedly change up their uniforms: Ducks, Bruins, Sabres, Hurricanes, Red Wings, Oilers, Panthers, Wild, Predators, Rangers, Senators, Canucks and Golden Knights.

It’s unknown what will change for the Blackhawks’ jersey, but it’s likely Adidas will alter the unpopular collar that resembles a clerical collar. Chicago hasn’t had a lace-up collard since 1965, according to the report.

Adidas signed a deal with the NHL to become the official manufacturer of the league’s uniforms in April 2015, taking over the role from Reebok, which had been the NHL’s outfitter since 2007. For the 2016-17 season, Adidas only had home and road uniforms for all 31 NHL teams before introducing alternates this season.

Aside from outdoor games, Chicago has only worn red home and white road uniforms since the 2010-11 season. Prior to that, the Blackhawks donned alternate black uniforms.
