This is your daily thread to talk about the latest hockey news.
If you’re reading this, there’s a pretty good chance you’re a regular here at SCH. And that also means there’s a pretty good chance you’re aware that the team has been named in multiple lawsuits which include sexual assault allegations against former video coach Brad Aldrich.
After much discussion and consideration, we’ve decided to go forward with this plan for the short-term: 1) any articles detailing new developments in this ongoing situation will not have comment sections opened. We’re doing this based on past experiences, when sensitive topics led to a flurry of fly-by commenters who aren’t familiar with the community guidelines, which resulted in things getting out of hand in a hurry. 2) However, we also believe that this community is one where reasonable people can have grown-up conversations about these types of things. With that in mind, we’re going to use these daily MBS posts as the place for those discussions to happen. Again, given the delicate nature of these topics, we’re going to pay special attention to every discussion to ensure our Community Guidelines are followed.
All of these plans are subject to change at the discretion of the SCH staff. But we hope this is a place where people can still gather for productive interactions in spite of the current state of affairs with the Blackhawks.
